I can't find the original posting of it, but there was a blog post written a couple of years ago by someone who "didn't want to spend the rest of [their] career finding new ways to get people to click ads".
I wonder if this feeling applies not just to Google Adsense/Adwords team, but ultimately to other Google products, many of which are essentially ways to get people to click ads.
