How is this different from Bootstrap (http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/ http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/)?
- aren55555 13y agoServes the same purpose (building a UI) but seems to have style differences and a few different JS UI plugins.
- rcarmo 13y agoWhich, incidentally, don't require you to use jQuery. Just sayin'. (it's agnostic).
- rfnslyr 13y agoLiterally JUST a skin. No idea how this crap gets voted up.
- JohnDotAwesome 13y agoIs it _literally_ just a skin? Looks like a mostly different codebase. Compare mixins.less https://github.com/sapo/Ink/blob/develop/less/modules/mixins.less https://github.com/sapo/Ink/blob/develop/less/modules/mixins... https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap/blob/master/less/mixins.less https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap/blob/master/less/mixins.le... Personally, I like it. It's nice to have competition :)

- fredoliveira 13y agoI don't think you read the source code. At all.
- rcarmo 13y agoNope, not a skin. It's a very different beast in terms of grid layouts, for instance.
- pedroscs 13y agoIt is definitely not a skin. I can tell you we started for scratch. I'm on the Dev team.
- ceejayoz 13y agoAt this point, if your CSS framework doesn't start with "why we're different/better than Bootstrap" I'm pretty much out. I skimmed the docs and see very little here that isn't a direct "Bootstrap does that, we'll do that too".
- chrischen 13y agoThey support IE7, which I believe Bootstrap 3 has dropped. If you don't do the comparison yourself, you're at risk of losing out.
- ceejayoz 13y agoI'm at risk of losing out if I have to go through 20 pages of documentation and compare line-for-line against Bootstrap rather than the creator going "we decided not to just re-skin Bootstrap primarily for reasons A, B, and C".
- chrischen 13y agoI'm going to reveal a big secret. I actually managed to find out the tidbit about IE 7 without reading it line by line. Their primary job is not marketing. Their primary job is to build the framework. Why do you think things like Y Combinator exists? They do some work others aren't willing to and others lose out because of it. It's to the developer's benefit to tell you why his product is good, but it's not their duty. These guys worked on and released a free product for you. You can choose to use it if you want but they don't owe you anything or an explanation of why it's better than Bootstrap.
- orky56 13y agoForms is a nice addition over Bootstrap for me.
- wut42 13y agoBootstrap has always had forms.
- rcarmo 13y agoWe have always been at war with Eurasia :) Seriously now, yes, Bootstrap has always had forms. But as a developer who merely dabbles in design, I personally prefer Ink's markup because it's responsive off the bat (at least compared to BS 2.0, haven't tried 3.0).
