In local news media where I live (Oslo, Norway), there have been stories about the "muslem morality police". These are people who use social control to make sure girls dress properly and don't have too much contact with outsiders. Although a family may be relatively liberal, they feel pressured by neighbors to control their daughters. In some cases they even are shamed by neighbors calling their more conservative families back home. The interesting fact is that this "morality police" is driven by more women than men.
