Ask HN: In the wake of recent Gmail migrations, where do I host my address book?
I'm currently trying Fastmail which seems very good for email, but their address book does not sync with iOS 6 (LDAP not working) and can't in any case be updated from mobile. Do you know any hosting service providing address book hosting, with LDAP and CardDAV?
- Casseres 13y agoI haven't tried ownCloud yet, but from what I've read so far, it seems promising. It supports CardDAV [0]. The software is free, but you have to host it on your own server. There does appear to be some services that offer it as a service, and one service that has a free tier [1]. - e_proxus 13y agoYeah, it looks interesting. Only thing for me is that most of the providers do not look very trustworthy.
