This is why I love having FB messages delivered via email. I get to read the content without triggering the read receipt, letting me reply that night or the next morning without possibly offending the sender. The downside is that recently Facebook's emails have been sporadic. Sometimes I get them at the same time as the actual message, sometimes I get a digest form sometimes I get nothing.
