I don't buy it either. Sony Electronics had the ability to beat Apple to the market with a digital walkman but didn't because of the internal debates at Sony about the dangers of MP3s. Tying PS3 to Blu-Ray did make Blu-Ray win against HD-DVD but lost the real war to XBox 360 & Streaming Media.
