When Amazon EBS harddrive fails

An EBS instance of ours failed, so we started a new one (recovered from our snapshots). We got this email the next day: "This is a notification that your volume vol-xxxxxxxx experienced a failure due to multiple failures of the underlying hardware components and was unable to be recovered. We regret the loss and inconvenience, and recommend recovering from your most recent snapshot. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns" So when they say that harddrives will fail, I guess they're right!
