Live does not revolve around "school", and there should be time (and lots of it!) to learn outside of it. Therefore, summer vacation.
- antitrust 13y agoIn my observation, you're correct. School teaches a narrow subset of what must be learned, and emphasizes a passive attitude toward learning. It's better to let kids learn on their own. Some of them will grow up to be socially powerful, or athletic, or even self-starters like hackers, and for them, this "free time" is more important than school.
