Alan Moore Kickstarter - His Heavy Heart
- kylelibra 13y agoAlan Moore is the guy behind classics like Watchmen and V for Vendetta in case you didn't know. To say he is quite the character is a bit of an understatement: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Moore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Moore
- smrtinsert 13y agoI like to think of him as the Richard Stallman of comic books.
- icebraining 13y agoHis opinions on the films made from those comics are relevant as well; for example, about V for Vendetta: It's a thwarted and frustrated and perhaps largely impotent American liberal fantasy of someone with American liberal values [standing up] against a state run by neo-conservatives — which is not what "V for Vendetta" was about. It was about fascism, it was about anarchy, it was about [England]. The intent of the film is nothing like the intent of the book as I wrote it. http://www.mtv.com/shared/movies/interviews/m/moore_alan_060315/ http://www.mtv.com/shared/movies/interviews/m/moore_alan_060...
- xsmasher 13y agoHas anyone seen the previous shorts, and are they any good?
- ianterrell 13y agoI watched Jimmy's End when it came out, and enjoyed it overall. It was good but not excellent. Still, seeing Alan Moore come out on stage at the end gave me a delightful little fanboy thrill.
- ianterrell 13y agoAlan Moore is one of my favorite writers, and I've been considering doing a Kickstarter in the next several months, so I've been watching this Kickstarter with trepidation (after pitching in my own contribution, of course). If he doesn't reach his funding goal with his crazy imagination and track record of creating great art, what chance do I have? :)
