Assuming you are in the UK, late payment of an invoice incurs statutory late penalties. Further non-payment can be resolved by small claims court. On rare occasions when I have been ignored like this, I have sent snail mail saying I will start charging late penalties - as I am legally entitled to - if I don't receive payment within 14 days. I have never had to wait out those 14 days, so I can't offer anecdote beyond that.
