Pick a common (or at least mostly common) base OS for every server, configure your entire system on top of a LXC container, badda bing, badda boom. Quick, low profile, repeatable, redistributable, etc etc etc.

Much the same thought I have. I've been doing various things toward the same goal for a long time, but Docker helps on every count (quick, redistributable etc).
