What is the difference between asking for extradition and pressuring to deny asylum? It just seems like anyone could make that accusation who flees a country to avoid a trial.
- jpdoctor 13y ago> What is the difference between asking for extradition and pressuring to deny asylum? Asylum is considered a basic human right. I've posted elsewhere: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5974330 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5974330

The declaration is a statement of what the destination state should do when it recognizes a case of persecution. 'Persecution' is inherently a subjective concept.
