Here are the two sidebars (new github vs. Ians design) side by side: http://i.imgur.com/e2w6TkT.png http://i.imgur.com/e2w6TkT.png Ians: - got rid of the color indicator - got rid of the separation lines - is truncating the list - has three identical buttons where there were two - has more indirection. Cloning is autofocused for me, it takes one click+cmd-c. Also, when I'm scanning the page for a way to clone by URL, I'll find the actual URL much faster than the button that says "Clone". I like the general idea of the redesign, but I think it would make the sidebar much worse.
