The choices aren't: do absolutely nothing or lock him up for 8 years. > How many of the same people here would be going after the same authorities for not having stopped him beforehand when he made the threat Do you mean if the authorities had done absolutely nothing, or if the authorities had followed up on the lead and done a full investigation on his capabilities? Those are very different scenarios.
