Ask HN: Balancing tech and communications?

I'm a job seeker whose experience is split between programming and strategic communications. (I coded for a startup, and I did science & technical writing for MIT.) I'm torn because I enjoy both fields and don't want to choose just one, but it seems like most jobs push applicants toward technology or communications. Maybe I need to refine my criteria or my expectations. Can you recommend any types of positions or specific companies that offer a balance between tech and communications?
