Google is far from alone with the NSA involvement. To be safe you would have to host in a country outside the USA.

- gyepi 13y agoThis is true, but it reduces the possibility of getting your data by asking (or "compelling") the provider. Most security models assume that there is adequate physical security and that threats come over the network. A hosting service that doesn't hand over your server or data makes it possible to rely on the former and deal with the latter appropriately. Edit: I really wish people would not delete their comments. It makes it hard to have a conversation!
