That is YOUR hard earned tax money at work AGAINST YOU.
- timdev2 13y ago>> hey, non-US citizen here. > That is YOUR hard earned tax money at work AGAINST YOU. The guy you're yelling at is a non-US citizen who's point is "for the love of god, you ignorant american, how did you not see what's been happening until now?" It's completely stupid that this is even a topic on HN, but the worst part is the amount of mindless shitposting going on. I mean, you just replied to a person who starts off with a disclaimer about being a not-american, and your response culimates in righteous but misplaced indignation. Fooey.

- timdev2 13y agoThis is a threaded discussion platform. If you're going to make an impassioned "me too" sort of reply, it's best to respect the context and make that clear. After all, this is the internet.
- o0-0o 13y agoBlack projects are not listed in a public budget. The premise of it being tax money is also suspect. The US government does not get all of the money from taxes despite the popular notion. I agree with your gist however; A modern day human sacrifice.
- avn2109 13y agoCould you list some of the other sources of government funding? The only one I can think of is the alleged CIA drug trafficking scandals from decades past.
- kragen 13y agoIllegal arms trafficking, which was somewhat more thoroughly proven than the CIA making a profit from its illegal drug trafficking. Its involvement, however, was pretty cut-and-dried, and goes far beyond being an "alleged scandal".
- Tloewald 13y agoThe CIA's drug trafficking activities over the decades are a matter of historical record: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Politics_of_Heroin_in_Southeast_Asia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Politics_of_Heroin_in_South... This of course does not cover Afghanistan and Iran/Contra. Here's a paper examining CIA Black Funding simply by looking at the trillion or so dollars of misallocated DoD money over fifty or so years: http://www1.american.edu/salla/Articles/BB-CIA.htm http://www1.american.edu/salla/Articles/BB-CIA.htm A trillion here and there and pretty soon you're talking real money.
