- kozhevnikov 13y agoRemembering a comic from 1995 is impressive, the best I could come up with is 2008. http://thedailywtf.com/Articles/The-Defect-Black-Market.aspx http://thedailywtf.com/Articles/The-Defect-Black-Market.aspx
- carbocation 13y agoThis is a funny illustration of the Cobra effect [1]. It's not obvious that people not writing the software can contribute to the problem, but I suppose this program will test the hypothesis. What I mean is that, in this Dilbert strip, the programmers get paid to fix bugs that they create, incenting the creation of bugs. Paying the townspeople to let the company know about bugs would not obviously (to me) lead to more bugs being created (except in contrived scenarios that involve collusion). 1 = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobra_effect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobra_effect
- dennisgorelik 13y agoHow did you find such an old comic on Dilbert?
- huxley 13y agoIt wasn't hard, it was one of the better ones from back when I still read Dilbert, so it stuck in the sieve that is my mind. Searching for Dilbert bug bounty brought it up in the top results.
