How about 4) Have companies advertise their products as facebook.com/product At the very least, people will continue to use facebook to check their friends's updates. Some people use it for more than that, but it just depends. Leaving any social network for something better isn't a huge deal because the "worse" one will still be there if you need to access your cache of photos or look up someone's phone number who isn't on the new network.
