Sometimes I wish some my friends, acquaintances and colleagues had paid a little more attention in history class and asked more questions when they were in school instead of thinking such courses weren't that important. We could then mostly skip past the stages of shock/outrage and move onto what can be done about things or how to prevent them in the first place.
