Year after year people claim that the past was brighter. Every single time someone with a better memory or a better grasp of history points out that they're actually inaccurate and are simply deluding themselves. The cycle continues uninterrupted.
To all of you checking the facts and going back in history to disprove such claims, thank you.
- yareally 13y agoSometimes I wish some my friends, acquaintances and colleagues had paid a little more attention in history class and asked more questions when they were in school instead of thinking such courses weren't that important. We could then mostly skip past the stages of shock/outrage and move onto what can be done about things or how to prevent them in the first place.
