While I read the article and enjoyed some of it, you're still making a point that has been said many times before: smart people tend to think of themselves as smart, and think of others as inferior to them. This happens in a lot of places, it's not just hacker news. So I'm still a bit puzzled as to why you did this--it seems these days that sticking "hacker" or "hacker news" in front of a title is meant for readership and less to make a thought-provoking point that might not have been made before.
