I wouldn't call myself successful yet, but I had mostly stopped writing stuff by hand. I started working in a new place a few months ago. This new job involves a lot of planning and meetings, which requires note taking. I noticed how bad my handwriting has become. I wouldn't trust my handwriting for leaving notes for others.
