Breakfast in Kailua is awesome. I'm a Cinnamon's fan myself, but I know a lot of people are Boots and Kimos guys. I really love Kalapawai (both locations) and the morrocan place is a pretty nice spot. Kailuans (?) seem to have a soft spot for Pizza Bob's too. I've sadly (and shamefully) never been to the big island so I couldn't speak to that. I've also only been to Kauai briefly to hike the Na Pali coast. Are you talking about Ewa or just Ewa side? Ewa to me is just a bunch of suburbs and military familys. Heading out to Maile/Nanakuli/Waianae is more similar to some Waimanalo areas.
