I really really hope, they improved the dog slow of Terminal.app

  In what ways is it slow for you? Personally, the only issue I had with it was opening a new tab/window/shell being somewhat slow. Fixed with "touch ~/.hushlogin"

  If you use oh-my-zsh try disabling some plugins as usually one or two turn out to be the culprit.

  I'd use Xquartz with like rxvt-unicode or termite. It's fast.
