I don't understand the point of this article or why I'm seeing it here. As far as I could tell, the author got an email from a friend looking for help and instead of helping him, he decided to humiliate him on the internet.

The author is not a friend; the piece's point of view is from that of a "celebrity" writing about how he dealt with a "fan".
