Noob question here, but how is OT different from using, say, websockets? I get that it's cool, but the question is why? What are the advantages??

Noob question here, but how is OT different from using, say, websockets?
I get that it's cool, but the question is why? What are the advantages??
- Void_ 13y agoWebSockets is technology used for real-time updates. OT is an algorithm that allows sending only changed parts of a document and resolving conflicts made if multiple users are editing the same thing.
