Anyone who thinks that publicly attacking an individual at this level is in any way acceptable should work hard at being more empathic. No long hours of working justify this.
- antihero 13y ago"Anyone who thinks that publicly attacking an individual at this level is in any way acceptable should work hard at being more empathic" YAWN. Or people could just get thicker skin so we can actually have fun? This is just banter.
- drcongo 13y ago"Banter" is a vile word for a disgusting act.
- untothebreach 13y agoRidiculing others is fun? I know that was true in high school, but I thought we were adults now.
- coldtea 13y ago>Ridiculing others is fun? I know that was true in high school, but I thought we were adults now. Yes, ridiculing others has been fun for adults for several millennia. And ridiculing others that deserve it has also been a kind of justice.
- untothebreach 13y ago>Yes, ridiculing others has been fun for assholes for several millennia Fixed that for you :)
- coldtea 13y agoWell, if "ridiculing others" is your criterion to tell if someone is an asshole, I'd say it's quite shallow. And slightly hypocritical -- seeing as your snarky comment was meant to ridicule mine.
- untothebreach 13y agoYes, if you derive pleasure from ridiculing others, I do consider you an asshole. It is certainly not my only criteria, but it is one. As to the hypocrisy, I consider myself an adult, and did not appreciate you speaking for all of us, so it was meant as a correction, not ridicule.

Well, as an adult you probably have heard of "figures of speech" and "generalisations". I know some people have a difficulty with the mechanics of casual conversation, but a phrase like "ridiculing others has been fun for adults for several millennia" does not mean it necessarily applies to ALL adults. Just most of them.
