Indeed! Untill, I started exploring internet,reading articles and new ways to make money, the feeling of 'settling' for a job for whole life was deeply ingrained within me.
"Take up this field son, government job could provide job security", my father said. There is no regard to doing what people like. Even today if you are to give my mates, the worst working condition for 30,000 Rs a month, they would readily take it.
- kamaal 13y agoBut, Big IT companies in India are only marginally better than government jobs. I mean look at any major IT services company and you can see similar problems you could probably face in a government job. Mass hiring, usual linguistic and state based politics, layers and layers of managerial politics, partiality and biased promotions given to managers's yes men, stagnant pay, slow promotions... I mean all your horrors of a government job are now in your big software companies. And I refuse to believe that this only happens in services companies, all big companies have these problems including 'the big product giants'. Even if you join Google India, you will face these problems. At the end, its all about how much money you can make before you are 35-40. So that you retire and work on projects of your interest.
