It doesn't seem all that strange or bad that the non-tesla car producers are passing along the costs to the consumer. If a company is putting their own profits into R&D for a new product they are developing, is that not same thing as passing on the costs to the consumer? Except in this case, Honda is paying for Tesla's R&D instead of their own.
