Didn't get a good first impression considering it's meant to be responsive.
Otherwise, it looks awesome. It's like a more feature-complete version of Skeleton: http://www.getskeleton.com/ http://www.getskeleton.com/
- juandopazo 13y agoI'll open an issue. Can you tell me which browser and Android version is that?
- dkuntz2 13y agoIt's an old embedded one inside of an hn app.
- JangoSteve 13y agoIt's Android's WebView [1], which is used in all apps that render web pages and also in the Android Browser, still in use on the vast majority of Android phones (see my other comment in this thread). - brokenparser 13y agoProbably 4.0, it looks just fine here: https://www.manymo.com/emulators/82/connect https://www.manymo.com/emulators/82/connect
- pavs 13y agoWorks fine with chrome/Android, the problem is with your HN reader. I had seen it bork few sites rendering in the past.
- JangoSteve 13y agoI'm pretty sure the HN reader uses the Android webview [1] to render all webpages, which is the same thing that is used in the Android Browser. Chrome Mobile is not available for download on devices before Android 4.0, and didn't become the default browser on Android until 4.2. According to these stats [2], Android Browser has about 55x the usage of Chrome Mobile as of April 2013. This means ~97% of Android devices will likely show up as they do in my screenshot. In short, the problem is not with my HN reader, the problem is with this CSS library on the most common Android browser. - pavs 13y agoInteresting. So I re-installed HN2 to see if I can recreate your problem, I couldn't. It works fine. And it works fine under chrome too. I also tried the Android stock browser, works fine too. I am using SG-S3 for what its worth. Most likely the whole css wasn't loaded completely. Could you retry couple of times to see if it happens again?
- JangoSteve 13y agoIt doesn't happen every time. It happened for me for the first few pages that loaded (as I was clicking through the overlaid menu). Then it went away for a few pages, then it came back. In other words, there was no rhyme or reason, even after everything should have been cached, it would randomly happen. Usually the kind of thing you see when there's a race condition in the javascript.
- Cryode 13y agoSounds like a Droid for ya. (He said, mostly in jest. Lol.)
- mcintyre1994 13y agoLooks fine on default ICS browser, which version are you on?
- hobonumber1 13y agoThanks dude. Looks like some stylesheet failed to get pulled down. The menu is not styled black, as it should be. That may be what's causing the issue. In any case, @juandopazo filed an issue here: https://github.com/yui/pure-site/issues/73 https://github.com/yui/pure-site/issues/73
- NoodleIncident 13y agoBorked here on my Android/Dolphin, too. Oddly enough, it didn't seem to be there until I rotated the screen to landscape, then back to portrait, but I might just not have noticed it.
