I think this is no longer true. I've some threads and regex code running well with gcc 4.7 and 4.8.
Anyone knows when was this presentation given? It doesn't have any date.

- plorkyeran 13y ago4.7's thread implementation is missing sleep_for, and possibly some other stuff. <regex> is still mostly not implemented in 4.8.
