DutuPHP: A unified, object oriented API for PDO and mysqli
- stephenr 13y agoWhy is there count() and rowCount()? Why does where() only accept a string? This means the dev has to build their own where clause, and means they can't use prepared statement placeholders in the where clause. On a less db specific point, why are you not writing namespaced code?
- tafadzwagonera 13y agocount() method is there to perform the equivalent of SQL's COUNT and rowCount() returns the number of rows affected by the last query. The version of where() that uses prepared statement placeholders is yet to be implemented because it broke the code during some preliminary tests so we are working on it. This where() will accept a string of placeholders and an array of values to be bound to the placeholders. Namespaces implementation is underway but you are more likely to see it once the API is mature enough to be implemented in a live project. I'm sorry if its absence insinuated a lack of consideration for using namespaces. Thanks for the feedback.
