I've felt the way you describe at times, but think it's good to face such things. I was forced to face crippling illness and death in people very close to me several times before I turned 30. These possibilities are in us. There's no matter of deserve in play, it just is. I don't continue to look and read about something like this to gawk and be entertained or desensitized, but to become slightly more educated, thankful and just maybe prepared.
