Living in the Future: Startup Ideas
- lifeisstillgood 13y agoI love the way ideas like "Deliver medicine to most remote and poor areas of the world" are listed next to "Video game I would like to see"
- DanBC 13y agoI've posted this link before, but I really like the ideas behind it. Delivering meds to remote areas is tricky. But Coca Cola manage to deliver bottles of product to be sold to remote areas. So, use Coca Cola to do the delivery. They get some good publicity, and people get their meds delivered.
- lifeisstillgood 13y agoI think more accurately various middle-parties work in an unco-ordinated fashion to bring coca-cola to remote areas. This also does not account for the need to keep many (vaccines) at a specific temperature range and be used within a specific amount of time. I am not saying that the Coca-Cola corporation could not do it, or that the PR upside would beat the costs, but if I were Warren Buffet, I would get them to use UAV Airships to do the deliveries anyway. NetJet logos of course !
- lifeisstillgood 13y agoOn this note a list of areas to keep an eye on in no particular order: * Laser weapons technology * Wearable computing (quantified self) * Wearable computing (iphone replacement) * UAV delivery / transport costs * UAV and helium airships * hyper-local editors (@kingshillchat) * errr
- coldcode 13y agoSmall autonomous flying delivery vehicles - where would they fly so that they don't crash into airplanes or presumably future flying cars (itself a scary proposition) or government drones?
- lifeisstillgood 13y agoThere is a) no guarantee they won't crash (the air safety record is mostly one of very large spaces between planes and terrifyingly good maintenance) b) UAVs will make very good active deterrents against *other* UAVs spying on your drug corner / bank robbery / illicit affair. Expect to see them crashing down around you any day now.
