Google Launches Android Studio And New Features For Developer Console
- zachlatta 13y agoThis looks awesome! I'm really excited that Google is starting to embrace IntelliJ over Eclipse (personal preference).
- LaSombra 13y agoSame here! Eclipse feels sluggish after some time. I wish the company I work for moved their IDE product from Eclipse to IntelliJ.
- maskedinvader 13y agothis does look promising, will be tempted to begin writing android apps to give this a go. Google does seem to be doing a lot of work to get devs to ship apps in android. I really liked the upgrades to the dev console and the new features for optimizing like suggestions for tablet support, translations etc. Good job google
- metastew 13y agoWhere can I download this? I can't find a download link anywhere.
- kyriakos 13y agoguess we have to wait for google to update their SDK page. The GUI editor has been available in IntelliJ IDEA for a while you can get the community edition if you are eager to try it. Of course it doesn't come with all the bells and whistles Google added. To be honest I'm surprised it took them this long to provide a decent IDE with a GUI designer.
- yareally 13y ago>guess we have to wait for google to update their SDK page. It does if you use the preview: http://blogs.jetbrains.com/idea/2013/05/intellij-idea-13-early-preview-is-out/ http://blogs.jetbrains.com/idea/2013/05/intellij-idea-13-ear...

- matelau 13y agoI can't get it to launch on my laptop... It keeps timing out, but runs fine on my desktop. Still, I am excited for this thing to become stable.
