Very interesting that you link his age with the position. If he was 28 and just graduated with a CS degree would that still apply? Or are you saying that because of his other experiences you would not hire him as a truly junior (taking his age out of the equation)? Out of interest, on the salary side of things would you start him off at a junior rate and then increase to mid-level when you think he has reached the mid-level criteria?
