I have sat outside the door of someone withdrawing from heroin and they might as well have been playing The Exorcist at full volume in there. This goes on for days and usually ends up with the 'gatekeepers' breaking down and letting them out. Also, it has never killed anyone? Mindboggling. It is well-known that year-long users can die from withdrawal (brain aneurysm in the cases I know of).
