Yes, if you would only allow binding it resolves the conflict. But, if a five year old would look at the code: y = 5 match x with: 1: print '1'

Yes, if you would only allow binding it resolves the conflict. But, if a five year old would look at the code:
y = 5
match x with:
1: print '1'
y: print '5'
he will think it is equivalent to:
y = 5
if x == 1: print '1'
elif x == y: print '5'
And that would not be true.
