You can't avoid the CAP theorem, but you can isolate its complexity and prevent it from sabotaging your ability to reason about your systems. I have a different definition of "debunk".
- whatshisface 13y agoI don't think he really debunked it there, he just came up with a way around it. If you accept what the theorem assumes about your system, then the cap theorem applies to you. Any system that squirrels away from it's assumptions can be said to "beat" it, but only in a practical sense.
- lemming 13y agoFrom the FAQ: 16. Have I 'got around' or 'beaten' the CAP theorem? No. You might have designed a system that is not heavily affected by it. That's good.
