And It still crackles and pops and messes up every time skype makes a sound. Edit: to clarify, using a PCI soundcard solved the crackling and popping in every application except skype, which I find acceptable for now, since I don't usually talk on skype. I might experiment with using JACK and somehow routing pulse through that.
