Is this from the creator of 4chan?
- ing33k 13y agocreator of redis and node.js are involved. https://moot.it/about/ https://moot.it/about/

- thaumaturgy 13y agoI briefly wondered that too -- every time I've seen a news post about moot.it I assumed that it was one of Christopher Poole's new projects. Googled it this time, and nope. There was a threat of a lawsuit for trademark infringement last November, but nothing since then I guess. I don't understand why anybody unrelated to Poole would willfully name their online discussion software something that's got a strong connotation to 4Chan.
- kmfrk 13y agoNope. He's already sued them: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20408037 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20408037.
- DanBC 13y agoNo, it has no connection to moot. It's a baffling choice of name. It's a shame because I'm interested in meta stuff about discussion on the Internet and how to improve it, and maybe moot.it have some good ideas. I've discussed the name before on HN. Here are the threads.
