His punishment was to repair the door and write an essay about the possible dangers handling thermite plus a few days helping the janitor clean the school grounds. He reminded us that while we might be tempted to repeat this he would recommend against destroying school property. So we locked the the school by attaching tie down straps to the school doors and leaving through a window in the second story.
