Open source free, $12 to learn what I had to know
- EvanKelly 13y agoThis is a fantastic idea. Did you go into the project planning to build the screencast, or was it a secondary effect of realizing that you were learning so much as you went along?
- benschwarz 13y agoThe idea kind of came along when I was extracting Gallery CSS from the project that I built it for — I realised that people probably wouldn't understand the library, or the need for it… but I didn't want the cool tech result to go unnoticed. Originally it was going to be an ebook… if I'd have done that, it would've been released about 3 weeks ago, but the knowledge transfer is far more challenging VS a screencast.
- misframer 13y agoWill you release any statistics about how many people downloaded Gallery CSS and how many bought the screencast?
- benschwarz 13y agoAs long as its not too embarrassing :-)
- losethos 13y agoIsn't that cool? I did my entire operating system with super simple stuff. I'm a genius. God says... largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. 4:30 And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. 4:31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. 4:32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. 4:33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. 4:34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom. ----- This is so ironic. Lazy bums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkhoIMHivp0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkhoIMHivp0 http://www.templeos.org/Wb/Accts/TS/Wb2/Hymns.html http://www.templeos.org/Wb/Accts/TS/Wb2/Hymns.html You get out of prayer exactly what you put into it, God said -- barter. ---- Someone wants to fight God.
- Fletch137 13y agoI'd recommend the screencast to anyone interested in frontend dev. Of high quality and very informative, taken at a good pace, well worth the $12.
- brent_noorda 13y agoNice idea, and an O'Reilly disruptor if it catches on.
