What is with these preachy headlines? "Why you should..." "Please use ..." "Please stay away from..."
It's very presumptuous to assume that you know the intricacies of thousands of developers' workflows well enough to tell them how to do thier jobs.
- topbanana 13y agoIt developed originally as a fairly cynical way to make blogs posts stand out, but now everyone seems to be doing it. I hate it. In fact, I might write a post on it: Why Your Post Titles Are Annoying and What You Can Do About It

- khasinski 13y agoWith "Please, oh please use git pull --rebase" I didn't mean to preach but to convince some of the people I code with to maintain at least basics of a clean git history, thus the 'please' in title. I wrote it some time ago and only yesterday I was surprised at the sudden popularity of that post :)
