You are using a red herring. A people's views on homosexuality have nothing to do with how free and open that country's press is. You are doing a disservice to the discussion by implying that Jamaica's Press Freedom ranking should not be commended highly because some Jamaicans allegedly "dislike gays".
- pyre 14y agoThe article is about more than freedom of the press though, otherwise they wouldn't be talking about laws that are aimed at quashing protests. My point was that the Freedom of the Press ranking isn't the whole picture. The author cites the Freedom of the Press ranking, but then spends most of the time talking about other freedoms being suppressed.
