Minutes ago I received a "confirm your email address" notification from Disqus. I thought this was strange, since I have never signed up for Disqus. I assumed someone with a similar name had made a mistake.
Another few minutes later, I received a notification of a reply to "one of my comments" and I was horrified.
Someone had registered an account under my name with my email address and had been posting incredibly disgusting comments regarding the recent attack in Boston. I have since 'recovered' my account and deleted this comments.
I am shocked that Disqus allows users to post comments without email verification, and shocked that someone has chosen to target me like this. I can't think why anyone would.
