In this well-known essay from 1998, Eric Raymond correctly predicts that the next challenge for OSS is software for non-technical users. [1] Since we currently have many examples of such successful projects (Firefox, Ubuntu, WordPress) used by millions of people that aren't programmers, it seems that the social landscape has changed. So, I was wondering if anyone has written a follow-up essay about the social dynamics in Open Source, which takes this development into account.
