Um Greece cannot issue currency in the way that the US can.
- fauigerzigerk 14y agoNo, but the linked article says the government could sell assets to buy back bonds instead of getting into a money printing debt monetization sprial.
- cma 14y agoNo, it said it could buy back debt by reissuing new debt at a higher rate and using the proceeds; net interest burden would remain the same, but the debt GDP-ratio would change.
