I never actually used VB so maybe I'm talking out of my ass but... Storyboards sound like an attempt to do what you're describing. You can throw together a bunch of views without writing any code at all, then string them together so that a tap on a given button or cell pushes one view to the next. This is also pretty useful for prototyping.
